Restaurant Viterra

The project
Viterra is modernity and tradition. It is flavours from here and there; from then and now. Viterra is dynamic and relaxed. It is the union of chef Alex Serra and restaurateur Cinthya Viterbori. Viterra is the perfect fusion to enjoy a delicious journey in Sant Andreu de Llavaneres, a coastal town in Maresme.
FUSION, THE SOUL OF THE PROJECT
We took the idea of fusion in Alex and Cinthya’s way of understanding the restaurant business to the space, fusing the kitchen with the dining room. In this way we not only fused flavours, textures and recipes; we also managed to blend the experience of the diners and the chef, something very important for Alex, a person with a very social personality who loves to share the moment of cooking and see how people enjoy the dishes he prepares.
We made the kitchen the main protagonist of the space, we designed the routes and distributed the furniture in such a way that the visual connection with it was present in all the views and in all the angles of the space.
VEGETATION, WATER & CERAMICS TO DEFINE A SENSORY SPACE
The space is strategically constructed through several key elements:
The first of these is vegetation. We opted for dried flowers as the main resource to transform the space, giving it its own personality and life. Its variety in terms of shape and colour allowed us to personalise the design and get involved in the process, maintaining the essence between fusion and tradition.
We use different shades to convey different emotional states to our guests. The predominant colour is yellow, which is related to joy and wellbeing, helps to release fears and anxieties, stimulates the mind and the intellect. In contrast to violet, among others, linked to mysticism and discovery. The result is a living artwork full of messages.
This is how the three metre by one metre interior mural, the exterior façade, the individual centrepieces, the large bouquets and the interior tree were created.
Water is the second key pillar at Viterra. It is integrated into the interior design as a design strategy to promote cognitive stimulation through the visual connection with the sea – sight -, the smell of salt – smell – smell – and the sound of the waves – hearing – among others. Both the exterior and the interior are distributed to favour contact with natural elements and generate a positive sensory experience. The aim is to help create a state of calm and tranquillity associated with well-being.
The third and last relevant element is ceramics. We introduced small objects made from clay and earthenware, such as the ‘botijos cubiteras’, with the intention of exposing users to a varied sensory environment; these pieces seek to transmit closeness and authenticity while at the same time speaking of craftsmanship, a technique that defines the character of Viterra.

VITERRA, A BRAND BORN FROM THE MIX
Viterra also entrusted us with the branding of its restaurant, in which we continue to explore the idea of fusion between innovation and tradition, between the flavours of here and there, between the cuisine of grandmothers and that of the great restaurants.
We are committed to an identity that combines elegance and craftsmanship. We created a classic and elegant logo that we applied to craft paper to develop the different communication elements of the restaurant.
These elements, like the food at Viterra, are homemade. It is the team itself that develops the menus, cards and menus thanks to stamping, a technique that makes production low cost, without intermediaries and very flexible.
Viterra, a space and a branding that we at Adjetivo Studio define as {DELICIOUS}.
